27 Oct The cottage journey – almost done
There are just two weekends to go until the holiday cottage welcomes her first guests. I’m spectacularly excited, but also aware of how important this first booking is. I want everything to be just right – from the towels and the bedding to the fire, heating, and kitchen equipment. I want her to feel cosy and welcoming – like a home away from home. I don’t want to have missed anything out.
And that’s quite stressful, especially as I still have a little painting and purchasing to do. (Tonight was towels, binoculars and star-gazing/bird watching books – it’s an eclectic selection!) But it really feels like the end is near (and with just two weekends to go, it really is this time).
I’ve also been to see another beautiful property in the area and realised I should be thinking of baking little welcome treats for guests, though in Wales, perhaps it should automatically be welsh cakes. Definitely not laverbread though, promise! I shall keep it a surprise for now, though – you’ll just have to stay if you want to find out what I’ve decided!
