If you’re a food lover, then you’re in for a treat. Contributing to the undeniable foodie feeling in the Beacons area, the annual Abergavenny Food Festival returns this year on the 17th and 18th September.
With culinary heavyweights Monica Galetti, Jose Pizarro and Cyrus Todiwala headlining the weekend and doing personal appearances demonstrating their recipes or talking about the food that they love, there’s also a (jam) packed series of masterclasses, tours and foraging walks, and tutored tastings alongside music, stalls, a night market, meat market, world food market and (possibly my favourite sounding of all) a gin palace. I can’t think of a single event that couldn’t be improved with a gin palace!
Tickets are on sale on the Abergavenny food festival website, with special ‘Party at the Castle’ event promising live music, more street food and fireworks at the Castle on Saturday night. There’s also heaps more information about the chefs and their talks/demos and everything else going on over the weekend on to put Abergavenny firmly on the foodie map.
