Pontganol Cottage is shortlisted for a Brecon Beacons Tourism award

Brecon Beacons Tourism Awards finalist

21 Sep Pontganol Cottage is shortlisted for a Brecon Beacons Tourism award

I’m absolutely delighted to say that the little cottage has made it through to the shortlist for a Brecon Beacons Tourism award.

I (rather nervously) met with some lovely shortlisters at the cottage earlier this month and can’t believe that she’s made the final four of the ‘small self-catering’ category, alongside Basel Cottage Holidays, Beacons Park Boats and Road House Narrow Boats.

There are 11 categories in total covering serviced and self-catering accommodation, attraction, days out, community organisations and sustainability. The judges will now decide the overall winner of each category, along with an overall winner, with an additional prize of an Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award.

These are the first year of the awards, which were set up ‘to showcase the very best of what the National Park has to offer’. You can find out more about the other awards categories and those shortlisted in the official press release. I’m going to make it my mission to eat in all of the shortlisted businesses!

The winners are announced on the 10th November at a Gala dinner to be held at the Manor, Crickhowell. Please firmly cross your fingers for Pontganol, but in the meantime, good luck to everyone shortlisted and team Pontganol will see you on the 10th!
