13 Jun (I’ve missed the) Hay Festival 2017!
I can’t believe I’ve missed the chance to write about the Hay Festival, which took place between the 24th May and the 4th June this year. Thankfully, I know the guests who were at the cottage for the week during the festival planned to go, as they were repeat bookers from last year!
The line up this year included Stephen Fry, Bill Bailey, Cressida Cowell, Evan Davies, Ian Rankin and SJ Parris, Nina Conti, Jeanette Winterson, Simon Armitage, Gillian Cross, Monty Don, Eddie Izzard, and too many more thinkers, writers, musicians and adventurers to list, which was fitting considering Hay also celebrated its 30th year this year. And of course, it’s not just in Hay any more, now The Hay Literary Festival can now be found in Colombia, Denmark, Mexico, Spain and Peru; in its 30 years it has travelled to 30 locations.
Next year’s festival is already scheduled for the Thursday 24 May to Sunday 3 June next year – if you’re thinking of going and would like to stay at the cottage then just drop me an email!
